Wheelie – Everyone’s Favorite Autobot

Who would have ever thought Wheelie would be a fan of Sister Sledge but sure enough, he’s humming and singing We are Family in Dark of the Moon. Although most will always remember Wheelie as humping Mikaela’s leg in Revenge of the Fallen, he’s matured a little since then. Not a lot, but enough!

Wheelie in Dark of the Moon

To really understand Wheelie in Dark of the Moon, it is helpful to recap a bit of what he accomplished in Revenge of the Fallen first. When Wheelie first met Mikaela, it was with a blowtorch to the eye as he was trying to steal the shard for The Fallen. She locked him in a suitcase but he later came in handy when Sam needed symbols translated from a photo archive.

He took the humans to Jetfire since he was the only one who could help and at that point, he vowed his allegiance to the Autobots and said that he hated the Decepticons. While he did join the group briefly in Egypt as they were looking for the infamous Matrix of Leadership, he basically just disappeared after that.

One might assume that he was destroyed or simply forgotten about but he’s found himself to be something like a pet to Sam in Dark of the Moon. He also has a new friend name Brains. Wheelie isn’t very happy, as he was not well taken care of by the United States Government and Mikaela and Sam have broken up. On a positive note, his damaged eye is finally healed!

Wheelie is presumed dead along with many other Autobots as he was on the ship leaving Earth that Starscream destroyed. Of course, they are all fine and arrive in Chicago for the big battle.

Both Wheelie and Brains are extremely excited that they are going to be able to help the Autobots bring down the Decepticons but the Wreckers left them behind. Still determined to help, Wheelie and Brains roam around the streets until they find a Decepticon fighter plane that has crashed. They use this to fly to the battle site.

Wheelie really plays a hero in Dark of the Moon because once on the ship, him and Brains are able to save Bumblebee as well as other Autobots who have been captured. As the ship crashes down, it is unknown whether Wheelie dies a hero or if he managed to escape.
