Plot
The homeworld of Optimus Prime and the Autobots was destroyed by Megatron and his Decepticons in his quest to gain control of All Spark, a cube-shaped artifact with attractive powers. The Autobots also want All Spark so they can rebuild Cybertron and end the current war. Megatron at one point had All Spark but had to make a crash landing where he ended up freezing in the Arctic Circle.
Transformers begins in 1987 when Captain Witwicky found Megatron and activated his navigational system
accidentally which ended up imprinted on his glasses. This also left him unstable and blind. When the All Spark was found in the Colorado River, the Hoover Dam was erected around it to contain its energy and Megatron was transported to a nearby facility.
Transformers fast forwards to present and a group of Decepticons have landed on Earth in disguise as vehicles to find Megatron. Through battle, the military discover only high-heat sabot robots can fight the Decepticons. They also try a blackout which is unsuccessful.
Frenzy (one of the Decepticons) tries to hack into the military’s computer network in Transformers and finds Captain Witwicky’s glasses with the imprinted map online, his grandson Sam is planning to auction them off, not knowing their full worth.
Sam buys a 1976 yellow Camaro which he doesn’t know is an Autobot named Bumblebee who helps him try to woo his long-time crush, Mikaela Banes. Later that night, Sam chases Bumblebee when he sees him pulling out of the driveway, assuming someone is trying to steal him and soon discovers he’s actually a giant robot.
The next day in Transformers, Frenzy attacks Sam, asking about his grandfather’s glasses but Bumblebee comes to the rescue and the two of them battle. Mikaela tries to help and severs Frenzy’s head however, he simply transforms
himself into her cellphone and tucks nicely in her purse. They meet up with the rest of the Autobots who have landed on Earth and they go to get the glasses from Sam’s house.
The Defense Secretary orders that Sam and Mikaela be brought to the Hoover Dam while in the meantime, Megatron is set free by his Decepticons. The Decepticons and Autobots engage in a long-intense, action-packed battle and Sam puts the All Spark into the chest of Megatron, destroying it for good.
Transformers ends with Optimus Prime sending a message to space to any surviving Autobots that Earth is to be their new home.
