New Transformers in Dark of the Moon
There probably isn’t anyone who could say that they weren’t looking forward to seeing all of the new Transformers in Dark of the Moon. Each installment seems to get better and better as the robots become even more detailed, life-like and actually offer their own unique personalities. Bay expressed that he wanted Transformers 3 to be darker and more emotional. Something he certainly accomplished with all the new Transformers in Dark of the Moon.
Brains
Formerly refereed to as the Brain Unit, Brains is a drone who runs into Sam Witwicky and Bumblebee in Philadelphia when he ran away from the Decepticons. He is better known as being Wheelie’s new found friend as they both live with Sam. Brains and Wheelie were responsible for sabotaging the ship where the Autobots were captured, setting them free. It is unknown whether he survived the crash or not.
Although Sentinel Prime was once the leader of the Autobots, he has joined forces with the Decepticons. He turns out to be the primary antagonist in the film and is killed by Optimus Prime who he once mentored. Sentinel Prime is a fierce-looking Rosenbauer Panther airport firetruck.
Mirage (Dino)
Next on the list of new Transformers in Dark of the Moon is Mirage, also known as Dino who is always wondering if anyone can keep up with his speed. Considering he transforms into a sleek red Ferrari 458 Italia, it’s no wonder no one can catch him. At one point, him and Bumblebee battle Hatchet together and he also survives the final battle but other than that, he’s really more of a background character.
Wheeljack
Often referred to as the Einstein in Dark of the Moon, Wheeljack transforms into a vibrant blue Mercedes Benz E550. Wheeljack has an Irish accent and supplies the Autobots with new weaponry. He is there for some of the battle in Chicago but is captured by Barricade, Soundwave and a few other Decepticons.
Of all the new Transformers n Dark of the Moon, The Wreckers are being voted as favorites by many fans. These heavily armed Autobots transform into various NASCAR Sprint Cup Series vehicles.
Leadfoot – #42 Target Car – Juan Pablo Montoya
Topspin – #48 Lowes/Kobalt Car – Jimmie Johnson
Roadbuster – #88 Amp Energy/National Guard Car – Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Laserbeak
This minion of Soundwave looks like a mechanical condor, transforming into a Gyrodyne. He is one of the Decepticons who kidnaps Carly and it is ultimately Sam who kills him.
Others
A few other new Transformers in Dark of the Moon who have small appearances include:
Crankcase – Chevrolet Suburban
Crowbar – Chevrolet Suburban Police SUV
Hatchet – Chevrolet Suburban Police SUV
Igor – A sort of head-like, very deformed Decepticon.
